Shannon is a graduate of Texas State University, where she honed her creative spirit with a Bachelor's Degree in Art and a minor in Education. Shannon proudly served our nation in the U.S. Navy. She and her family have embraced Taylor as their home for nearly a decade, and are active members of The Fellowship Church. As a devoted wife and mother of two boys, Shannon cheers them on regularly in their academic and athletic pursuits, proudly embracing the spirit of both the Taylor Ducks and St. Mary's Rams. A former educator in the Taylor ISD elementary school system, Shannon now empowers teachers through her dynamic role within the EdTech industry, inspiring them to unlock the full potential of their students. When she is not busy cheering on her boys at their band or athletic events, navigating the exciting world of education, or traveling with her family, Shannon enjoys channeling her artistic passion through photography and videography.
My goals as your next Taylor City Council member are simple and straightforward. I will lead with a citizens first mentality, keeping my constituents and the citizens of Taylor top of mind as I make decisions. I will also strongly advocate for an open and accountable city government. Our city leaders must be good stewards of public funds, always acting responsibly towards the taxpayers they represent. We all know that Taylor’s infrastructure is long overdue for a serious overhaul. Let’s focus on the must-haves, not just the nice-to-haves. As your council member, I will make this my TOP PRIORITY!
I believe in common sense growth that prioritizes the well-being of our community over growth for growth's sake and I have significant concerns about how past development decisions have impacted our city. It’s time to put residents’ interests ahead of all future growth plans!
My primary goal as your District 4 City Councilor is simple: Prioritize the needs and voices of our Taylor community.
On Saturday, May 3rd, I encourage you to cast your vote for me, so I can be a STRONG advocate for you!
Shannon is a graduate of the Lead Taylor program and a Co-Founder of the Taylor Citizens' Coalition. She is a vocal advocate for citizen engagement, successfully leading the charge on a Charter Amendment petition drive that overturned the city council pay increase and empowered citizens to elect their own mayor. Shannon also led the effort to organize Taylor’s first-ever citizen-sponsored Pre-Election Rally, fostering direct interaction between residents and its local candidates. Shannon and her family have actively served in various ministries at her home church, and in different capacities as both a Taylor Duck band mom and St. Mary's Ram mom. She and her family have also served at the Shepherd's Heart Pantry, among other independent outreach efforts here in the community.
